Angel Reese's Stats Two Weeks Into WNBA Season Are Concerning
Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream are two weeks into their 2026 WNBA regular season.
The Dream, who traded for the two-time WNBA All-Star forward this offseason, are off to a decent start. Atlanta is 2-1 on the season, heading into a Friday night game against the Dallas Wings.
But while the Dream are off to a winning start, Reese has not looked like a winning player. It's early, of course, but thus far, Reese has put up some concerning, troubling stat lines, three games into the 2026 WNBA regular season.
Two concerning stats jump off of Reese's player bio right now:
- She's shooting just 33 percent from the field
- She's averaging more than 5 turnovers per game
As a post player, those stats are deeply concerning. Reese has never shot that well from the field - much of her offensive game is reliant on her grabbing her own misses off the rim, something she does incredibly well - but putting up five turnovers per game as a post player is almost unheard of.
Reese averaged 2 and 3 turnovers per game during the 2024 and '25 seasons, respectively. She shot 39 percent from the field as a rookie and 45.8 percent from the field in her second season.
Again, it's very early. Three games is not much of a sample size. But Reese needs to be taking better care of the basketball. She can't get away with turning the ball over as much as she has.
The Dream will look to get things right moving forward. Atlanta is scheduled to take on Dallas in a Friday night game this weekend. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
The game will air on ION.
