Neymar Return Date Announced After Getting Injured Just Days Before World Cup

It has been more than a week since Neymar was announced as a part of the Brazilian national team World Cup squad. Since then, Neymar has not played for Santos FC after injury concerns grew.

It was later reported that Neymar is taking precautions in playing more games to avoid injury. Despite the precaution, Neymar has missed three games for Santos across all competitions and suffered a muscle injury.

Reports from Geglobo suggest that Neymar was upset after yesterday's tests, and Brazil fears that Santos may have hidden the extent of the injury.

Neymar is now expected to miss the upcoming friendly matches against Panama this Sunday and the friendly match against Egypt next week.

How Long Is Neymar Injured For?

According to reports in Brazil, Neymar has a grade 2 muscle injury in his calf, and his recovery should take around two weeks.

Neymar may be back to full fitness just before Brazil's 2026 World Cup debut match against Morocco on June 13, 2026. Neymar could also potentially miss the match to avoid a severe injury that could rule him out for the whole tournament.

Neymar has already met up with Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti for the Brazil camp that is preparing for the World Cup this summer, which kicks off in exactly two weeks on June 11, 2026.
