Frances Tiafoe Begs For Return Of His Racket After Win Thursday
Frances Tiafoe won his second-round match at Roland Garros this Thursday, but he lost some equipment in the process.
Tiafoe secured a 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 victory over Hubert Hurkacz this afternoon in a match that lasted four hours and 42 minutes. He ran over to the crowd to celebrate after taking care of business on match point.
After booking a spot in the third round, Tiafoe revealed that a fan stole his racket. In an effort to get it back, he's willing to offer tickets to his next match against Jaime Faria.
"Unreal atmosphere on court 14 today. But I must say to the fan who took my racket at the end when I was celebrating with y'all, can I please have it back," Tiafoe wrote on his Instagram Story. "I'll bless you with two tickets for my next match."
Huge opportunity ahead for Tiafoe.
Tiafoe reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros in 2025, marking his best run at the prestigious tournament. He's got a great opportunity to go even farther this year.
Now that Jannik Sinner has been eliminated from Tiafoe's quarter, his confidence level should be through the roof.
While we're not overlooking Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Jaime Faria, Martin Landaluce and the other players in Tiafoe's quarter of the draw, the reality is they don't possess his big-match experience.
