WNBA Fans Are 'Done' With Chennedy Carter After Wild Social Media Rant
Las Vegas Aces star Chennedy Carter isn't afraid to share her unfiltered thoughts on social media, that's for sure.
Less than 24 hours after the Aces lost to the Dallas Wings, the veteran guard went on Threads and unleashed a rant about her role in Las Vegas. She also took a huge shot at the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, Azzi Fudd.
Fudd had an excellent performance against the Aces, scoring 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Some fans believe she made life quite difficult for Carter, but the veteran guard isn't buying that narrative.
"Not to mention, I made her ankle touch the ground," Carter wrote. "But y'all can hollar at me when my leash is off, too. It's completely unfair, even though statistically, it's not even close."
As if openly criticizing Fudd wasn't bad enough, Carter made it clear that she's not pleased with her current role in Las Vegas. She's averaging 19.1 points per game while playing just under 22 minutes each night.
Tough look for Chennedy Carter.
While there's no denying that Carter has been great this season, making comments like this on social media won't make life any easier for her or her teammates.
"I was actually rooting for Chennedy Carter," one fan said. "Hate to say it, but maybe this is just who she is. We're not even a 4th into the season and she's already involved in some B.S. The Aces gave her an opportunity. Sometimes you just have to play your role and keep quiet. Lose today so you can win tomorrow."
"Once again, Chen is her own worst enemy and she talks too much," a second fan wrote. "Put down your phone and focus on yourself."
"And people wonder why Chennedy was 'blackballed,' she can't stay out her own way," another fan declared.
"A real friend needs to log her out of her social accounts right now," former NBA star Michael Redd said.
The Aces will return to the hardwood Sunday for a showdown with the Golden State Valkyries.
It'll be interesting to see if Aces coach Becky Hammon tweaks Carter's role after seeing these remarks.
