Dodgers Star's Wife Reveals Kids Received Death Threats After Phillies Loss

Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies was a tough one for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but it was especially tough for reliever Tanner Scott.

L.A. held a 3-1 lead entering the eighth inning before Scott came unglued. The 31-year-old reliever allowed three earned runs on three hits across one inning, turning a two-run lead into a one-run deficit.

Scott took the loss and a blown save, but the vitriol he and his family received on social media was far worse than the outcome on the score sheet.

Scott's wife Maddie took to Instagram to expose the hatred that was thrown her family's way, including a death threat that was directed toward her family.

"When did it stop being a game?" she asked on her Instagram story with a message from a user who had messaged her saying: "gun shot your family tonight."

"I don’t speak out often. Ever actually. I promise you, you don’t know what it’s like unless you’re living it."

"The unfortunate reality in case you were curious," Maddie posted in a follow-up story with a screenshot of six comments posted minutes apart from user @hawk.3112090.

Some of the comments left by the user were even directed toward Maddie and Tanner's newborn son. She posted some on her Instagram story showing how just how disturbing some of the comments she received were.

"Hope this mutt d i e s soon," one comment on a photo of her son read.

Another comment was even more hateful: "I hope you get home to your family lying in puddles of their own blood."

Tanner and Maddie have been together for nearly a decade and they got married back in 2021. They have one son, Bo, 3, and are expecting their second child sometime in the fall.
