FIFA Responds to IShowSpeed's Request Before 2026 World Cup: 'We Will Be in Touch'
The 2026 FIFA World Cup hasn't kicked off yet but the conversation around it is already loud, and IShowSpeed is right in the middle of it.
The popular online streamer and influencer, born Darren Jason Watkins Jr., dropped a football-themed track called ‘Champions' ahead of the tournament. The music video crossed 500,000 views within two hours of going live and has since climbed to roughly 3.7 million views.
Speed filmed it wearing a Portugal jersey, a nod to his well-known admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is set to appear in a record sixth World Cup alongside Argentina's Lionel Messi and Mexico's Guillermo Ochoa.
The song has no official FIFA ties but that hasn't stopped fans from saying it captures exactly the kind of energy the tournament brings.
Riding that momentum, Speed made a public push for FIFA to adopt Champions as the official World Cup anthem. FIFA did not ignore him.
"we will be in touch," the FIFA World Cup's official X account replied.

IShowSpeed's Champions and the Race for a World Cup Anthem
Directed by Zach Madden and executive produced by Slipz and Ames Ward, the music video leans into the chaotic, high-energy style Speed is known for.
Rather than a polished, corporate-sounding production, the track works like a fast-paced roll call of participating nations over a beat that feels built for stadium crowds.
FIFA's official anthem space is competitive territory. Shakira's latest contribution, Dai Dai with Burna Boy, became only the 10th track to earn full World Cup song status from FIFA. The Colombian star also performed at the 2022 World Cup and FIFA has turned to her again for 2026. That said, Dai Dai hasn't quite matched the cultural pull of her most iconic football releases.
With Champions pulling strong numbers and genuine fan support behind it, Speed's bid isn't just a social media moment. Whether FIFA follows up on that reply or not, the track has already planted itself firmly in the World Cup conversation.
