Micah Parsons Teases Rare Running Back Role in Packers Playbook

Green Bay Packers EDGE Micah Parsons is on the road to recovery after tearing his ACL in Week 15 last season against the Denver Broncos. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it's possible that the pass rusher makes a return in mid-October after beginning the year on the PUP list.

There's no doubt Green Bay wants him back as soon as possible. Through his first five years in the NFL, he has accumulated 297 tackles, 65 sacks, 75 tackles for loss, 139 quarterback hits and 225 pressures. Along with five Pro Bowl nods and three First-Team All-Pro selections, he's become one of the league's top defenders.

However, defense may not be the only side of the ball he sees action on. During an appearance on the "Jay Mohr" YouTube channel, Parsons was asked if Green Bay has any plays to line him up at running back.

"Yeah, the Packers, they got one for me," Parsons said. "We never used it yet, though... It's for the Super Bowl."

The five-time Pro Bowler revealed the play is called "One Dive."

At 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, there's no doubt many defenders would have a hard time bringing him down. His size rivals that of Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, who is 6-foot-2 and 252 pounds.

Parsons does have some experience lining up in the backfield. During his senior season at Harrisburg High School, he carried the ball 109 times, rushing for 1,239 yards and 27 touchdowns.

However, he did not record any rushes during his time with the Penn State Nittany Lions and still hasn't during his five years in the NFL. If the Packers make it to the Super Bowl, though, and find themselves in a short-yardage situation, that could change.
