Angel Reese Is Getting Picked Apart For 'Painfully' Bad Practice Video
Despite earning All-Star honors twice in her young career, Angel Reese continues to face backlash from her critics.
Reese, who is averaging 12.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season, had another double-double for the Atlanta Dream during Thursday night's 83-71 loss against the Indiana Fever. That being said, she's getting trolled online due to a video of her warming up.
Though she's not known for her 3-point shooting, Reese was seen taking a plethora of attempts from beyond the arc. Let's just say fans were alarmed by her shooting mechanics.
"What are we doing here? Crossing her arms, eyes on the ball in the air and not the rim, stomping out every shot," one fan said. "This is just bad shooting fundamentals. Has she not hired a shot coach in the last 3 years?"
"I will never understand this," a second fan wrote. "She shoots like 40-45% from around the rim. And they have her practicing 3s? Girl. Do some Mikan drills."
"She looks like a righty trying to shoot left - painful to watch," another fan commented.
"Angels mechanics reminds me of a person who's just learning the game of basketball . She has no fluidity to her game .. everything just looks difficult. Her heart and effort is her best skill which can take you just as far sometimes though," a social media user added.
"As an expert in being bad at shooting a basketball… This is really bad," another fan said.
Angel needs to improve her offensive skillset.
Prior to the 2025 season, WNBA legend Lisa Leslie told Reese that she needs to improve her scoring in the paint.
"The biggest advice I have for you is going to be how you shoot your lay-ups. We're going to fix that – it's fixable for you. You're going to get better, and I can help you get better," Leslie said on Reese's podcast.
Unfortunately for Reese, her field goal percentage has actually gotten worse this year. She's making just 41.5% of her shots, which is down from 45.8% in 2025.
As for her 3-point shooting, Reese has only 1-of-11 attempts from downtown this season.
