Richard Childress Rips Carson Hocevar Over the Radio After Michigan Wreck

Some of the best comments on the radio come from Richard Childress. Today is no different. Following a massive restart wreck that was triggered by Carson Hocevar, Childress had a quick quip about the young driver, fittingly nicknamed "Hurricane."

Austin Dillon was a victim of the restart mayhem. Tyler Reddick spun out and slammed into the inside wall going into Turn 1. Dillon had avoided the mess for the most part, until Reddick came back up the track and the No. 3 took a nasty hit into the No. 45.

According to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, Childress wasn't happy on the radio. Childress chimed in after Dillon's spotter called out Hocevar for the wreck.

"Yeah. Any time their eyes are that close together, it means they've got a small brain," Childress said, via Gluck.

Carson Hocevar is the hometown hero this weekend. He's going to do whatever he has to do in order to win. He made a mistake and turned John Hunter Nemechek on that restart, and it wrecked a lot of race cars. Time will tell if he has to pay a price later down the road.

It is no secret hat Hocevar ruffles feathers in the Cup Series. That's been his career since he was racing late models in Michigan. He's a force to be reckoned with in more ways than one, and he is not going to apologize for racing hard, even if it leads to wrecks like today.
