Indiana Fever Star Aliyah Boston Announces Health Update on Monday

The Indiana Fever received some encouraging news on Monday regarding one of the most important players on their roster.

Ahead of Indiana's road matchup against the Washington Mystics, star center Aliyah Boston offered a positive update after briefly leaving Saturday's game against the New York Liberty with a lower-leg injury.

Boston's status became a major storyline following Indiana's loss in New York. The Fever center exited the game momentarily before returning, but her appearance on the injury report as questionable for Monday's contest immediately raised concerns among fans.

Fortunately for Indiana, Boston sounded optimistic when speaking with reporters on Monday.

Aliyah Boston Shares Encouraging Injury Update

According to Fever reporter Chloe Peterson, Boston said she is "feeling great, feeling better" after the injury scare against the Liberty.

The update comes at an important time for Indiana as the team looks to get back on track after a difficult stretch that has seen several key players sidelined with injuries.

Boston's presence remains critical for the Fever. The 6-foot-5 center nearly recorded a double-double against New York, finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds in 29 minutes despite the brief injury concern.

Her comments suggest the recovery process is moving in a positive direction, though the team was still taking a cautious approach entering Monday's game.

Stephanie White Remains Careful With Boston's Status

Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters the organization planned to continue evaluating Boston following shootaround before making a final decision.

"We'll continue to evaluate her and make sure she's ready to roll," White said.

The cautious approach makes sense given Boston's importance to Indiana's success.

The former No. 1 overall pick and three-time All-Star has been one of the anchors of the Fever's frontcourt since entering the league and remains one of the team's most reliable two-way players.

Fever Looking for Healthy Core

Boston's update also comes as Indiana continues monitoring the health of another superstar.

Caitlin Clark was once again listed as probable with the back issue that has appeared on the injury report for multiple games. Clark played through the injury against New York, finishing with 10 points, nine assists and seven rebounds despite an off shooting night.

With Indiana sitting at 5-5 entering the matchup against Washington, getting both Boston and Clark healthy could be one of the biggest keys to the team's success moving forward.

For now, Boston's latest comments provide reason for optimism that the injury scare against the Liberty may not keep her sidelined for long.
