Report: Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Paying $3 Million For Wedding Venue
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are expected to cut a large check for their wedding venue.
TMZ reported last week that Kelce and Swift are expected to tie the knot at Madison Square Garden, the home of the New York Knicks. That news shocked plenty of fans, especially since it was initially reported that Kelce and Swift would get married at her $17 million home in Rhode Island.
"Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ between 1,100 and 1,200 people will show up at MSG July 3 to watch the couple become husband and wife," TMZ said. "We're told Taylor and Travis have gone to great lengths to ensure privacy, and that includes communicating with invitees by text, rather than physical invitations."
Clearly, TMZ stands by its reporting. The entertainment tabloid is now claiming that Swift rented out Madison Square Garden for three days.
"Sources tell us the soon-to-be-weds rented out MSG for at least 3 days ... one day early for set up, the day of the event, and the day after to strike it all," TMZ's latest report states.
According to an industry insider, Swift will spend about $1 million per night to rent out Madison Square Garden.
Is this report accurate?
Swift's fans aren't convinced her wedding will take place at a popular sports venue. If the reports are true though, her fans believe it'll end up being a very original idea.
"There is absolutely no way that this is true that they're going to get married at Madison Square Garden," one fan said. "How frigging pretentious can you be? It has to be fake. A red herring maybe."
"I don't believe this for a second," a second fan commented.
"Find it ironic that if she chose to hold it there it's specifically to keep vultures like TMZ away. No drones, no helicopters, no stalkers to ruin her day. Fully able to keep them happy and secure. If it's a decoy then love that too. It will be private and amazing either way," a third fan wrote.
"If it's for real, I'm sure that getting married in an arena will become the most elegant and coveted thing after she does it, I don't get how y'all don't think that's iconic and creative," another Swiftie wrote.
Luckily for Swift's fans, they won't have to wait too long to see what happens. The belief is that she'll get married within the next month.
