Packers' Christian Watson Outlines Individual Goals for 2026 NFL Season
Christian Watson agreed to a lucrative contract extension with the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2026 NFL season, signing a four-year, $110 million deal. The contract included a $31 million signing bonus, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Watson is hoping to deliver on this price tag this coming NFL season. While speaking to reporters for the first time since signing his contract extension, the 27-year-old wide receiver outlined some personal stat goals for the Packers’ 2026 campaign.
"I try not to look into the number stuff too much," Watson said on Tuesday, via Steve Megargee of the Associated Press. "I take it week by week. But if I'm really searching and I want to set personal goals, I definitely want to have double-digit touchdowns and I want to have over 1,100 yards."

These are lofty goals for Watson, who’s never surpassed more than 620 yards or seven touchdowns in a single season. The talented pass catcher appeared in just 48 games for the Packers through his first four NFL seasons, dealing with a variety of injury issues.

Watson suffered an ACL tear during the final game of the Packers’ regular-season schedule in 2024, causing him to miss the first six games of the 2025 season. Through ten games this past season, he reeled in 35 catches for 611 yards and six touchdowns.
“He embodies what we want to be about. I think he’s a team-first kind of guy,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said of Watson, via the team’s official website. “Never once over the course of four years have I ever heard him complain about not getting the ball. He does all the little things the right way. He handles himself the right way.”
