Knicks Fans Are Taking Aim At Michelle Beadle After 'Classless' Remark
Former ESPN host Michelle Beadle appears to be in a feud with the New York Knicks' entire fan base.
Beadle, a lifelong fan of the San Antonio Spurs, isn't thrilled about the Knicks winning this year's NBA Finals. She was hoping Victor Wembanyama would cap off his first postseason with a title.
During the latest episode of "Run It Back" on FanDuel TV, Beadle offered her thoughts on the Knicks' title-clinching win over the Spurs. Additionally, she shared her take on Wembanyama refusing to shake hands with his opponents.
Instead of criticizing Wembanyama, she took a jab at New Yorkers.
"One of my favorite thing that has come out of this is all the crying that has occurred because Wemby didn't shake the hands of the Knicks and we [the fans in New York] don't like that," Beadle said. "There are a lot of Knicks fans saying that to whom I respond, go burn something else down and not worry about what's classy and what's not."
Knicks fans fire back at Beadle.
Unsurprisingly, the fans in New York had time this Monday to respond to Beadle's rant. Most of them referred to her as a sore loser.
"Michelle Beadle, you really are an unfathomable loser," one fan replied. "You would get a Becky Hammon blitz if this show had any juice."
"Beadle is the worst woman in all of sports content/media right now," a second fan said. "She literally adds nothing to these conversations and has said some of the dumbest [expletive] I have ever heard."
"You took something personal that wasn't even an attack on you and then tried to equate a bunch of rowdy people that make up less than 1% of the fan base to the franchise player not being man enough to accept defeat with grace," another fan commented.
"I expect better from Michelle but maybe she's just as classless as Wemby," a New Yorker said. "You lose with respect and dignity."
It's been a rough stretch for Beadle.
After the Spurs blew a 29-point lead in Game 4, Beadle went on a lengthy rant about De'Aaron Fox.
"I'm so angry. How are you up 29 points and you lose in that building to those fans and that owner? Shameful. It was shameful," Beadle said "And De'Aaron Fox, 200 and well, whatever million dollars is for you to be a veteran presence. Guess what? You were the worst person on the floor last night. And I know you don't want to blame one person, Boogie, but we can go ahead and give him a big old chunk of that pie, because that was absolutely gross."
Beadle will have to wait until this fall to see her Spurs back in action. Whether or not they'll avenge their Finals loss though is unclear.
