Yankees Get Encouraging Carlos Rodón Injury Update
The New York Yankees got an encouraging update regarding left-handed pitcher Carlos Rodón's injury on Thursday.
Rodón has been out for the Yankees and on the 15-day injured list since July 3 (retroactive to June 30) with left elbow inflammation.
The 33-year-old looks to be headed towards a return with a positive update of him resuming baseball activities, as it was announced that he will play catch on Thursday for the first time since landing on the injured list.
Rodón will likely be able to make a return following the All-Star break and slot right back into the Yankees starting rotation.

Rodón has been very limited during the 2026 season, as this is his second time on the 15-day injured list.
Despite his injuries, Rodón has continued to pitch well while on the mound. The 11-year veteran has started in nine games this season.
In 2026, he is pitching to a 3.30 ERA with 52 strikeouts and a 4-2 record in 46 1/3 innings.
With the Yankees once again falling into their summer swoon, a return from Rodón soon would be a huge boost for the struggling team, even if the pitching is not necessarily the problem.
We will likely receive more updates on how Rodón is feeling after playing catch, and his progression as a whole within the coming days.
