The skinny: Gonzales is in the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time after having by far the best season of his career, including 17 cuts made and three top-10 finishes. To advance to the next round, he would need to finish no lower than 45th place this week. He is coming off a missed cut at the Wyndham Championship (even-par 140) but took fourth in his previous tournament, the Barracuda Championship on Aug. 9.
