Third-round score: 2-under-par 68 at Seaside.
Position: Gonzales (5-under 207) is tied for 48th, 11 strokes behind leader Kevin Kisner (16-under 196).
Recap: The Capital High School graduate opened with four birdies over his first eight holes on the back nine at Seaside — with all of those birdies coming on mid- to long-range putts. He made a 30-footer at No. 17 for a birdie. But errant tee shots at the second and fifth holes led to bogeys, reducing a great round to a good one.
Tee time Sunday: 7 a.m. (PST) off Seaside No. 10.
