Here are the players with ties to Washington high schools on Apple Cup rosters in 2021

When Washington and Washington State take the field this weekend, there will be plenty of former high school standouts from the state on each sideline.

There are more than 250 student athletes listed on the football rosters for the two programs ahead of the Apple Cup, and 90 played high school football in Washington.

Those on UW’s roster are looking to keep the Apple Cup in Seattle, and extend their streak in this rivalry to eight consecutive wins.

“It’s the biggest thing right here,” UW fourth-year sophomore cornerback Kyler Gordon, an Archbishop Murphy product, said postgame Saturday. “We’re not trying to let that trophy go at all. So, we’re going to keep it in Seattle, for surely. I want to finish strong. ... So, Apple Cup’s got to stay with us.”

Those on WSU’s roster are looking to bring it back to Pullman for the first time since 2012.

“I think it would mean a lot to this senior class, it would mean a lot to the guys that came before us as well as the university to bring that cup back here in Pullman,” WSU sixth-year graduate linebacker Justus Rogers, a Bellevue product, told reporters in Pullman this week. “I think we all understand what’s out there and what’s in front of us, so we’ve just got to get the job done and have a great week of practices.”

Below is a list of all of the student athletes on Apple Cup rosters who hail from Washington high schools, and where they played at before UW and WSU. Those who have already appeared in at least one game this season are listed in bold.
