Pac-12 picks, Week 11: Time is running out
Modest ground was gained last week with a 3-2 showing against the spread, an effort that pulled me back to within one game of breaking even. So let’s hope next week finds us on the right side of the ledger, because as the headline notes, there is not a lot of football left to be played.
All lines are courtesy of Tim Booth’s brain. No, just kidding, he took them off the AP wire. They are for entertainment purposes only, so don’t get any ideas. As always, my pick for the Huskies game will come in a separate post on Friday.
Last week: 5-0 straight-up, 3-2 against the spread.
Season: 60-11 straight-up, 30-31-3 against the spread.

THURSDAY
Utah at Arizona State, 6:30 p.m., FOX Sports 1 (Utah by 6) -- Starting quarterback Manny Wilkins is expected to return from injury for ASU this week, so that should give the Sun Devils a boost. But the Utes should be fresh coming off last week’s bye, and I expect Utah to open things up against a defense that allows 6.68 yards per play. The pick: Utah 38, ASU 28.

SATURDAY
Stanford at Oregon, 1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks (Stanford by 3) -- Not only are the Ducks helpless defensively, but they managed only 288 yards of total offense last week in a loss at USC. Here’s a guess the Cardinal will eliminate the Ducks from bowl contention this week. The pick: Stanford 28, Oregon 24.
...
Oregon State at UCLA, 6 p.m., Pac-12 Networks (UCLA by 12) -- I’m a little surprised to see the Bruins installed as double-digit favorites, considering the free-fall they’re currently in (and the fact the Beavers have actually played OK a couple times this season). I could see Oregon State winning this game. But I can’t bring myself to make that prediction. UCLA 28, Oregon State 17.

Colorado at Arizona, 7 p.m., FOX Sports 1 (Colorado by 16) -- Arizona has officially entered the “just get this thing over with” portion of the season. Or maybe they already had, judging by last week’s debacle in Pullman. The pick: Colorado 45, Arizona 17.
...
California at Washington State, 7:30 p.m., ESPN (WSU by 15) -- Presented without comment: the over/under on this game is 84 points. The pick: Washington State 63, California 35.
