Gameday in the Pac-12, but not for the Huskies
This is the first of two consecutive Saturdays without a Huskies football game. They have a bye today, then obviously play on Thursday at USC before returning to a normal schedule for their Oct. 17 home game against Oregon.
Nevertheless, we have some UW links and notes to pass along, as well as a roundup of today’s Pac-12 action.
--- Here’s a notebook from the Los Angeles Times with an item about the upcoming UW-Steve Sarkisian reunion.
--- In basketball news, I posted this interview yesterday with UW freshman Matisse Thybulle. Also had this story in Friday’s newspaper from UW basketball media day.
--- And if you missed it, my weekly Pac-12 picks.
--- Sounds like Chris Petersen and the UW coaching staff are doing some recruiting during the bye week.

There are four Pac-12 games today ...
Washington State at California, 1 p.m., Pac-12 Networks -- The Cougars seek a turning-point win. Cal braces itself for WSU’s pass offense, against which it did not fare well last season.
Arizona State at UCLA, 4:30 p.m., FOX -- This is a matchup of ground games and turnovers. Here’s a scouting report and prediction from Doug Haller.
Oregon at Colorado, 7 p.m., ESPN -- The Ducks are still seeking their first victory over a Power 5 team. Colorado should be better equipped this season to compete with Oregon.
Arizona at Stanford, 7:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks -- Cardinal linebacker Blake Martinez is motivated to play well against his hometown school. Time is of the essence for the Wildcats.
