Huskies QB Jake Browning injures shoulder late in loss to Oregon

Jake Browning, the Washington Huskies’ freshman quarterback, injured his right throwing shoulder late in the Huskies’ 26-20 loss to Oregon on Saturday night.

Huskies coach Chris Petersen said the injury occurred when Browning was sacked three plays before Browning’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Jaydon Mickens with 3:35 remaining. The sack was voided by a personal-foul penalty against Oregon that moved the ball to the Ducks’ 6-yard line.

The TV broadcast showed trainers examining Browning’s right shoulder. When the Huskies took the field again with 1:18 to play for their final possession, backup quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels came into the game. He threw an interception with 24 seconds remaining to seal the win for Oregon.

Petersen had no further details about the severity of Browning’s injury.
