Pac-12 picks, Week 13

I’m not going to brag about my record last week. Nope. Not at all. Won’t do it.

FRIDAY

Oregon State at Oregon, 1 p.m., FOX Sports 1 (Oregon by 35.5) -- The only difficult part of picking this game is the point spread ... but after watching Oregon State curl into the fetal position against the Huskies last week, I can’t imagine Oregon winning this game by fewer than 40 points. The pick: Oregon 56, Oregon State 10.

SATURDAY

Colorado at Utah, 11:30 a.m., Pac-12 Networks (Utah by 16.5) -- It’s hard to see Colorado winning this game after watching the Buffaloes’ offense, led by first-time starter Cade Apsay, fail to score a touchdown last week in Pullman. But I don’t know that Utah’s offense is powerful enough without running back Devontae Booker to cover a three-score spread, even at home. The pick: Utah 31, Colorado 16.

UCLA at USC, 12:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN2 (USC by 3) -- With the Pac-12 South title on the line, it will be a high-stakes rivalry game in Los Angeles. Hard to imagine writing those words back in mid-October, with the Trojans coming off a brutal home loss to Washington before the messy situation with Steve Sarkisian reached its unfortunate conclusion. But USC has a chance to put a positive spin on what has otherwise been a disappointing season, and I think they’ll get it done against the Bruins. The pick: USC 28, UCLA 24.

Notre Dame at Stanford, 4:30 p.m., FOX (Stanford by 4) -- A game that could have College Football Playoff implications, depending on what happens elsewhere. Don’t know if I trust the Irish against a quality offense on the road. So let’s go with the Cardinal. The pick: Stanford 35, Notre Dame 24.

Arizona State at California, 7 p.m., FOX Sports 1 (Cal by 3.5) -- Man, I don’t know. ASU, I guess? The pick: Arizona State 31, California 28.
