Another staff change: Mike McHugh out as Huskies director of football operations
Mike McHugh, who joined coach Chris Petersen in December 2013 as Washington’s director of football operations, has been let go. A UW spokesperson says McHugh’s position has been eliminated entirely, and his duties will be filled by other UW staff members.
McHugh held the same position previously at Fresno State and for 10 seasons at California.
His dismissal comes shortly after the Friday firing of receivers coach Brent Pease, and the departure of defensive line coach and special-teams coordinator Jeff Choate to become head coach at Montana State (though Choate will remain at UW through the Huskies’ bowl game).
