Huskies recruiting update: QB Jacob Eason reportedly visiting UW, coaches on in-home visits and more

A few recruiting notes as Huskies coaches hit the road and the state’s 5-star quarterback prospect takes a closer look at UW ...

--- A few reports this morning indicated that 5-star quarterback Jacob Eason, the Lake Stevens High School star, is taking his official visit to the UW campus today. Eason signed a non-binding financial-aid agreement with Georgia in August, but is reconsidering his options after the firing of coach Mark Richt. He recently visited Florida, too, and is thought to be deciding between Georgia and Florida. One report this week indicated that he plans to make a decision next week, because he graduates from high school this month and plans to enroll in college in January.

Eason was a frequent visitor to UW practices throughout his high school career -- it wasn’t unusual for him to wear UW gear, either -- and usually brought a few of his friends with him, too. The Huskies already have a quarterback committed for the 2016 class -- Daniel Bridge-Gadd from Phoenix, who coach Chris Petersen visited this week -- but they obviously would take Eason if he wanted to stay home and play for the Huskies.

--- Scout.com’s Greg Biggins reports that 4-star Centennial High receiver Javon McKinley, one of UW’s top remaining targets, will not take an official visit to UCLA and will decide between Notre Dame, Washington and Oregon.
