UW president Ana Mari Cauce wants to name interim athletic director ‘in the coming days,’ establish search committee for full-time replacement
UW president Ana Mari Cauce released a statement on Friday regarding the departure of athletic director Scott Woodward to Texas A&M, and wrote that she plans to name an interim AD “in the coming days.”
Cauce also wrote that a search committee will be formed to find Woodward’s full-time replacement. Woodward will remain in his position at UW through the end of the month.
Here is a link to Cauce’s full statement. She wrote, in part: “Intercollegiate Athletics has marked numerous accomplishments under Scott’s watch, including significant increases in student-athletes’ average GPA across our 22 teams; national championships in softball, women’s cross country and men’s and women’s crew; and construction of the new Husky Stadium, among many others. Scott’s leadership will be missed, and we wish him well at Texas A&M.”
