4-star DB prospect Byron Murphy announces commitment to Huskies
Byron Murphy, a 4-star defensive back prospect from Scottsdale, Arizona, announced during a ceremony at Saguaro High School on Thursday that he will play football for the Washington Huskies.
Scout.com ranks Murphy as the No. 111 prospect in the 2016 class, and Rivals.com ranks him No. 40 overall. Murphy was thought to be leaning toward Arizona State, but instead became the 15th player in the 2016 class to announce a commitment to UW -- and the eighth such player to be rated as a 4-star prospect. He played receiver and cornerback in high school but UW recruited him to play defense, as noted at the bottom of this Scout.com story.
