Oregon State’s 86-82 victory over UCLA on Saturday afternoon means that Washington will play in the opening game of this season’s Pac-12 tournament at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The Huskies finished in a three-way tie for sixth place with OSU and USC with a 9-9 Pac-12 record. The head-to-head tiebreaker gives the No. 6 seed to Oregon State, because the Beavers went 2-1 against UW and USC. The Trojans went 2-2 against OSU and UW, giving USC the No. 7 seed, and the Huskies had a 1-2 record against OSU and USC, so they fall to the No. 8 seed and will face No. 9 seed Stanford at noon Wednesday in the Pac-12 tournament opener.

The winner of that game will face No. 1 seed Oregon at noon Thursday.

Washington played Stanford (15-14, 8-10 in Pac-12) one time this season, a 64-53 UW victory on Feb. 20 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. The Cardinal ended its regular season with losses at Arizona State and Arizona.
