4-star safety prospect Brandon McKinney (Orange, Calif.) announces commitment to Huskies

The Washington Huskies on Saturday received an oral commitment from Brandon McKinney, a 4-star safety prospect fom Lutheran High School in Orange, California. McKinney announced the decision on his Twitter page.

McKinney, listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, lists offers from USC, UCLA, Utah and several others, per his Scout.com bio. Scout ranks him as the No. 1 safety in California, and the No. 22 safety and No. 223 overall prospect in the 2017 class. McKinney finished last season with 114 tackles and an interception.

He is the 11th known player to commit to Washington in the 2017 class, and the sixth rated as a 4-star prospect.
