Winner of The Olympian’s Athlete of the Week (Oct. 4 to 9)

Voting is now closed for The Olympian’s high school Athlete of the Week poll (Oct. 4 to 9). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Kaleb McNeely, Timberline

The Blazers running back rushed 24 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in a 28-14 win over Class 3A South Sound Conference rival Capital. It was another strong outing from McNeely and puts Timberline in a strong position to earn a playoff spot.

Kaleb McNeely, Timberline: Rushed 24 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in 28-14 win over Capital.

Ethan Coleman, Olympia cross country: Set a met record at at the Bill Kehoe South Sound Invite on Saturday at St. Martin’s University, clocking in at 14 minutes, 52.7 seconds.

John Hoffer, Tumwater cross country: Finished in third place at the Bill Kehoe Invite with a time of 16 minutes, 7.1 seconds.

Ryan Lange, Yelm cross country: Finished eighth at the Bill Kehoe Invite with a time of 16 minutes, 24.3 seconds.

Aubrey Harrington, Capital cross country: Finished sixth in the Bill Kehoe Invite, clocking in at 19 minutes, 0.5 seconds.

Brayden Platt, Yelm: Tornados’ running back rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in 29-14 win over Gig Harbor.

Payton Hoyt, Tumwater: Rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in a 58-0 win over Shelton.

Takari Hickle, Tenino: Rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in 50-6 rout of Hoquiam. Also recorded a pair of sacks.

Conan Baxter, Elma: Broke a school record, rushing for 308 yards on just 18 carries and scoring six touchdowns in 69-26 win over Seton Catholic.

Gabe Downing, Olympia: Bears’ QB passed for 262 yards and two touchdowns in loss to Puyallup.
