Winner of The Olympian’s Athlete of the Week (Oct. 11 to 16)

Voting is now closed for The Olympian’s high school Athlete of the Week poll (Oct. 11 to 16). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Aden Schaler, Yelm

Schaler caught two touchdowns and had a 60-yard punt return touchdown in a 47-6 win over North Thurston in 3A South Sound Conference play.

Alex Overbay, Tumwater: Coming in for the second half, the T-Birds’ QB completed 8 of 10 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns in loss to Camas.

Aden Schaler, Yelm: Caught two touchdowns and had a 60-yard punt return touchdown in 47-6 win over North Thurston.

Takari Hickle, Tenino: Rushed for 187 yards, five tackles for loss and two sacks in 32-26 win over Montesano.

Chase Sobelesky, Centralia: Rushed 14 times for 111 yards and t wo touchdowns in 29-14 win over Hoquiam.

Gabe Downing, Olympia: Completed 26-of-41 passes for 271 yards and a two touchdowns in loss to Curtis.

Junior Babber, Northwest Christian: Piled up 236 all-purpose yards to lead team to 46-26 win over Mary M. Knight. Threw two touchdown passes and ran for another. On defense, he had two interceptions.

Ian Sprouffske, Rainier: Completed 19-of-42 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns in 38-28 loss to Pe Ell Willapa Valley.

Jackson Brown, Timberline: Threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 71 yards and two touchdowns in 37-32 win over River Ridge.
