Timberline spots Gig Harbor a hefty halftime lead, but rallies to win in overtime

At one point Gig Harbor was up 15-0 in the first quarter, but the Tides watched their lead dwindle away throughout the second half and were defeated by Timberline in overtime, 77-73, in the 4A Narrows League on Friday night.

The Tides headed into halftime with a 39-23 lead. But the Blazers came out in the second half with a different game plan: full-court pressure, with five guards running the court. It was effective.

The Blazers put together a 16-point comeback and tied it on a pair of free throws with four seconds remaining in regulation. They outscored the Tides, 8-4, in overtime.

Erik Stevenson led the Blazers with 29 points. Michael Toglia scored a game-high 31 for the Tides.

Sumner 51, Auburn Riverside 50: The Spartans edged the Ravens after breaking a 35-35 tie at the end of the third quarter. Dawson Cutright led the Spartans with 12 points.

Capital 51, Shelton 50: The Cougars warded off a second-half rally by the Highclimbers. Shelton outscored Capital 38-25 in the second half. Matt Mickelson and Chris Penner combined for 22 points for the Cougars.

Olympia 75, Yelm 71: Despite 34 points from Christian Davis, the Tornados could not hold the lead. They were outscored 39-33 in the second half. Davis Woodward led the Bears with 14 points.

Clover Park 74, Washington 60: The Warriors outscored the Patriots 27-15 in the first quarter to set up their victory. For Clover Park, Davien Harris-Williams scored 21 points, Jeremiah Morris added 18 and Dakari Jefferson had 14.

Lincoln 66, North Thurston 59: The Abes built leads by outscoring the Rams 18-11 in the first quarter and 15-9 in the third quarter. Willie Thomas led Lincoln with 16 points.

Enumclaw 69, Lakes 52: The Hornets started the game on a 17-6 run and kept rolling. Justus Rainwater scored a game-high 24 points for Enumclaw.

Steilacoom 47, Franklin Pierce 36: The Sentinels outscored the Cardinals 16-8 in the first quarter and 14-9 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Federal Way 83, Todd Beamer 69: The Eagles had two players record a double-double. Jalen McDaniels had 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Christian Jones had 13 points and 14 rebounds. Gio Jackson had a game-high 30 points for Todd Beamer.

Auburn Mountainview 88, Auburn 56: The Lions were relentless during the first half, outscoring the Trojans 42-24. Ryan Lacey led the Lions with 24 points while Ki’Jan Weisinger chipped in 19.

Bellarmine Prep 64, Stadium 45: The Lions outscored the Tigers in every quarter but the fourth. Malachi Flynn led Bellarmine with 26 points and Joey Bodoia added 14.

Rogers 75, Graham-Kapowsin 29: The Rams outscored the Eagles 21-7 in the first quarter and cruised to victory. Konnor Bandley topped Rogers with 19 points while Braden Hannold added 15 and Brett Johnson had 13.
