Prep roundup: Carley Nance keeps Tahoma unbeaten with 10-0 win over Beamer

Tahoma 10, Todd Beamer 0 (5 innings): Just what will slow the defending 4A state champions?
Carley Nance allowed one hit in five innings, was 2 for 2 at the plate with a home run and the Bears cruised past the Titans — who scored 19 runs the day before.
Tahoma (7-0; 5-0 4A SPSL North) is tied atop the league standings with Thomas Jefferson.
Mia Corbin, a Cal soccer signee, was 1 for 3 with a run and two RBIs. Sophie Afework had Beamer’s lone hit.
The game was scoreless until Tahoma scored two runs in the third inning. It added five more in the fourth before ending the game with three in the fifth to take a double-digit lead.
Bethel 14, Spanaway Lake 12: Madi Pierce hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap the Braves’ eight-run rally for the win.
Bethel trailed 12-6 when Spanaway Lake scored seven runs in the top of the fourth inning.
But it scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning, three more in the fifth and capped the comeback with Pierce’s two-run shot in the seven. She finished the day 5 for 5 at the plate.
Bethel senior catcher Brittany Genuardi hit two home runs.
Puyallup 17, Emerald Ridge 3 (5 innings): Emily Ensrud was a home run short of the cycle, finishing 4 for 4 with a double, a triple, four runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Vikings.
Autumn Harris hit a home run and a double and Regan Byrd had four RBIs for Puyallup (9-0, 3-0 4A SPSL South).
Federal Way 6, Kentwood 4: Jaclyn Gillis pitched a complete game and struck out 11 as the Eagles rallied with three runs in the final two innings to beat the Conquerors.
Kentwood sophomore Rhilmina Sagapolutele was 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs.
Gig Harbor 12, Olympia 2 (6 innings): Jordan Adams earned the win with 3 ⅔ innings of no-hit relief and she had three hits to lead the Tides to the 4A Narrows victory in six innings.
Abbie Hutton and Tessa Waage each hit doubles for Gig Harbor. Erin Roloff was 2 for 3 for the Bears.
Kentridge 16, Kent-Meridian 0 (3 innings): Ashton Bledsoe and Treyana Timai each hit home runs as the Chargers cruised past the Royals.
Kentlake 15, Decatur 1 (5 innings): Allyson Overall hit a double and drove in four runs to lead the Falcons to the 4A SPSL North victory.
Shelton 16, Capital 6 (5 innings): Aurora Gouley was 2 for 2 with four runs scored and three stolen bases as the Highclimbers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second in the 3A Narrows win over the Cougars.
BASEBALL
Top performer: River Howard, Enumclaw, fr., 5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 10 K; 4 for 4, two doubles, a run scored, six RBIs in a 17-3 win over Auburn
Kentwood 2, Todd Beamer 1 (10 innings): Isaac Hegamin singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Conquerors past the Titans in a 4A SPSL crossover game.
Beamer led 1-0 until Ben Wadowski scored Shane McGuire on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. The game went into extras before Hegamin singed home Tyler Tan in the 10th.
Trenton Harris then shut down Beamer in order in the bottom half of the inning to close out the win.
South Kitsap 6, Olympia 2: Dusty Garcia scored two runs and had three hits as the defending 4A state champion Wolves earned their first 4A Narrows League victory with a bounceback win over Olympia.
South Kitsap started league play 0-2 with losses to Olympia and Gig Harbor the previous two days.
Alex Garcia was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs for South Kitsap. Scott Gunther and Jaime Bautista each had two hits for Olympia.
Puyallup 10, Bethel 0 (5 innings): Austin Stump allowed just three hits and struck out 10 batters in five innings to keep the Vikings unbeaten in the state of Washington this season.
Michael Spellacy and Collin Wolf each hit doubles for Puyallup. Its only losses came on a three-game trip in California.
Wednesday’s game was scoreless until Puyallup scored two runs in the bottom of the third and added five more in the fourth inning before ending the game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Timberline 12, Yelm 0 (5 innings): Austin Whalen hit a home run and had two RBIs as the Blazers cruised past the Tornados for the 4A Narrows win.
Whalen finished 3 for 3.
Lucas Reid pitched all five innings, allowing three hits and no runs with five strikeouts.
Gig Harbor 12, Bellarmine Prep 1: Cameron MacIntosh and Jake Kein each hit a home run as the Tides added six insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cruise to the 4A Narrows League victory.
Avery Jones allowed one earned run and three hits in the complete game victory for Gig Harbor (5-3, 3-0 4A Narrows). The Tides scored six runs in the top of the second and six more in the seventh.
Gig Harbor’s Jon Burghardt, a Washington State commit, was 2 for 4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs. Jared Berard hit a double for Bellarmine Prep.
Rogers 8, Spanaway Lake 1: Troy Johnston struck out 10 batters in four innings and Black Denning drove in two runs to lead the Rams over the Sentinels for the 4A SPSL South win.
Graham-Kapowsin 10, Curtis 2: Richie Gomez was 4 for 4 and Brandon Becker hit a triple and drove in two runs as the Eagles cruised to the 4A SPSL South victory over the Vikings.
GK scored four runs in the bottom of the third to push its lead to 7-0. Chanse Nolte earned the win with 4 ⅔ innings pitched, allowing four hits and one earned run with eight strikeouts.
Sammy Abbot was 2 for 3 with a double and scored both of Curtis’ runs.
Thomas Jefferson 7, Decatur 0: A day after the Raiders no-hit the Golden Gators, Chris Richards followed with a shutout.
He allowed three hits and no walks in seven innings as the Raiders swept the Gators, who placed fourth in the 4A state tournament last year.
Tyson Sonnenfeld was 2 for 3 with a run and three RBIs as Jefferson built a 4-0 lead after the third inning. Avery Cantino-Kennedy threw a no-hitter against Decatur on Tuesday.
Kentlake 7, Tahoma 1: Caleb Jaime’s home run sparked the Falcons in a 4A SPSL Northeast victory over the Bears a day after suffering a shutout loss.
Jaime was 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI. Matt Mollenburg added a triple and drove in a run.
Connor Kiffer was 2 for 3 with a triple for Tahoma.
Kentridge 8, Kent-Meridian 0: Matt Fleming, a University of Washington signee, had his first hit of the season in his third game since returning from a torn labrum as the Chargers cruised to the 4A SPSL Northeast victory over the Royals.
The senior first baseman was 1 for 4. He’s now 1 for 7 in 10 plate appearances this season.
Bonney Lake 16, Lakes 0 (5 innings): Zac Horne allowed two hits and no runs in five innings and helped his own cause by driving in four runs in the Panthers’ 3A SPSL win over the Lancers.
Riley Teed was 3 for 4 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs for Bonney Lake (6-1, 2-0 3A SPSL).
Enumclaw 17, Auburn 3 (5 innings): Hornets freshman River Howard had as many hits as the entire Trojans team.
Howard was 4 for 4 with six RBIs and he allowed four hits in five innings on the mound to lead Enumclaw to the 3A SPSL win.
Riley Snyder was 3 for 3 with four runs scored and Kyle Dunning scored three runs on two hits for the Hornets.
Wilson 12, Mount Tahoma 2 (5 innings): The Rams scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and cruised past the Thunderbirdsfor the 3A Narrows win.
Alex Motonaga struck out five and allowed one hit in four innings for Wilson. He also was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
White River 3, Steilacoom 0: The Hornets scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn the 2A SPSL victory over the Sentinels.
Riley Johnson earned the win in relief, allowing no hits in 3 ⅔ innings.
Braden Fjeld drove in the game’s first run with an RBI single.
