Prep roundup: Enumclaw’s Quinn Breidenbach fans 12 in dominant outing

SOFTBALL

Top performer: Brooke Nelson, Bonney Lake, freshman

CG, SO; 4 for 4, HR, 2B, 5 RBIs in win over Sumner.

Federal Way 11, Kentwood 1: The Eagles made short work of the Conquerors behind a huge night from Tally Thomas in a five-inning game.

Thomas went 3 for 3 with a home run, two doubles and two RBIs. She also scored twice.

Jessica Kuhn and Hannah Togia chipped in with homers of their own.

Gig Harbor 6, Bellarmine 2: A strong pitching effort was enough for the Tides to defeat the Lions en route to the championship game.

Jordan Adams went the distance, tossing seven innings of three-hit, two-run softball.

Lauren Forseth went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Enumclaw 7, Auburn Mountainview 0: The Hornets, led by pitching superstar Quinn Breidenbach, easily handled Auburn Mountainview to clinch the 3A SPSL softball title.

Breidenbach has been untouchable this season. She tossed another complete game, striking out 12 and allowing three hits.

Brittany Camp was 3 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs.

Enumclaw owns the rights to the one seed in the 3A West Central/Southwest District tournament.

Bonney Lake 9, Sumner 0: Brooke Nelson was untouchable for the Panthers as they routed the Spartans.

Nelson threw a one-hitter and went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double and five RBIs.

She has hit well over .600 this season and has six home runs.

Shelton 7, North Thurston 6: A huge rally from the Rams was not enough to overcome an early lead held by the Highclimbers, who advanced to the championship game.

Shelton scored all of its runs in the first three innings and figured to coast. However, North Thurston scored six runs in the sixth inning.

Despite outhitting Shelton 12 to 11, North Thurston heads to the losing side of the bracket and will play for third place.

Tumwater 10, Black Hills 7: The offenses were on display in this 1A Evergreen game.

Tumwater’s Aly Carpenter had a home run and a three-run double. She scored twice.
