Walk-off home run against Federal Way to clinch a state tournament spot

Tahoma 8, Federal Way 5: The Bears (23-1) pulled off a come-from-behind win over the Eagles (14-9) to earn a berth in the state tournament.

Federal Way held a 5-3 lead entering the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, Tahoma’s Delaney Nelson delivered a game-tying, two-run double.

The Eagles defense turned a double play to send the game into extra innings.

With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Tahoma’s Mia Corbin launched a walk-off, three-run homer over the left field wall.

Dani Davis pitched the final three innings for the Bears, allowing one hit while striking out five.

Tahoma earned the fifth seed in the state tournament. Federal Way’s season ended.

Rogers 12, Jefferson 0: The Rams (18-4) clinched a spot in the state tournament by making short work of the Raiders (17-6).

Jessica O’Toole was sharp in the circle for the Rams, allowingtwo hits in five innings.

O’Toole helped herself offensively, going 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Sasha Killingswent 3 for 3 with a homer and three RBIs, and Kelby Smith was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

Rogers moves on to state as the sixth seed. Jefferson’s season ended.
