Will Ferrell “Takes the Field”

Remember Will Ferrell’s one-day stunt in spring training, when he played for 10 different teams in a March 12 blitz through the Cactus League? It was part of an upcoming HBO special, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, aimed at bolstering public awareness in the fight against cancer.

The one-hour show will debut at 10 p.m. on Sept. 12, but HBO just released a 90-second promotional trailer.

Ferrell played all nine positions in his one-day tour, including one inning at second base for the Mariners against the Oakland Athletics at HoHoKam Park in Mesa, Arizona.
