Russell Wilson surprises squealing kids with grand entrance at WE Day Seattle

While the Philadelphia Eagles were trading half their farm to Cleveland Wednesday to move up to the No. 2-overall pick in next week’s draft, and one week after the Los Angeles Rams did the same with Tennessee to move up to No. 1 to also pick a savior quarterback, the Seahawks’ franchise QB was in Seattle surprising squealing teenagers and pre-teens.

Russell Wilson used his Facebook account to show -- live online -- his unscheduled appearance at the annual “WE Day Seattle” for youth empowerment and community service at KeyArena.

Those security guys kept up with the elusive Wilson better than most NFL defensive linemen do.

Wilson then stood to the side of the stage and watched his fiancee Ciara sing for the WE Day invitees.

Meanwhile, the Rams, Eagles and other teams continue sometimes desperate searches for quarterbacks to run their franchises for years. The Seahawks haven’t drafted one since taking Wilson in the third round in 2012.

Now they contentedly watch online along with the rest of us as their $87.6 million man, who last season became Seattle’s first to pass for 4,000 yards in a season, makes Michael Jackson-esque entrances for screaming kids inside packed arenas knowing they don’t need to draft a QB this year, either.
