Pappa to return, but Craven injured
The Sounders are off the training pitch for another day – a day highlighted by good news and bad news – or at least potentially bad news -- on the personnel front.
Coach Sigi Schmid said that midfielder Marco Pappa is expected back from Gold Cup duty with the Guatemala national team in time for the Saturday home match against Colorado. Schmid indicated that Pappa will be on the game-day roster, with the amount of playing time to be determined.
The potentially bad news was an injury suffered by rookie forward Andy Craven, who collided with rookie goalkeeper Charlie Lyon. Craven limped off the field with an apparent left leg injury and was carted into the locker room. The Sounders had no immediate word on his condition.
The club returns to training Friday.
