50,000-plus to see healthier Sounders
The Sounders are off the training pitch for another day. The big news (aside from the Blue Angels occasionally roaring overhead) involved the seemingly improving health of club heading into its Saturday home match against Vancouver -- a match for which more than 50,000 tickets already have been sold.
“Clint (will be) back,” coach Sigi Schmid said. “Obviously (Stefan) Frei got through Tuesday very well and was able to get though all of training today, so that’s a positive for us. All the other guys are starting to make strides forward for sure. ... We’re trying to get (Obafemi Martins) into as much team practice as we can, and (assistant coach Ante Razov) some extra work after on shooting. So he’s defnitely progressing at this stage. As for a timeline exactly when he’s back, I can’t tell you for sure. It’s sooner now rater than later.”
