Sounders coach Sigi Schmid opened his daily media session today with these words of thanks to those who supported him during his recent physical problem:

“There’s a lot of people that sent me texts over the last 10 days and so forth and all over the country,” he said. “I haven’t had a chance to respond to all those people. I just wanted to say thanks for their prayers and thoughts. Same thing: I really appreciated what the San Jose fans did before the game with their little sign, ‘Get well, Sigi.’ Also really appreciate our fans and the support that they’ve given through this whole thing. I want to make sure that gets expressed and it’s something that meant an awful lot.”

Schmid was asked if he’s feeling better.

“I feel good,” he said.
