Sounders expect Marshall back next week
Coach Sigi Schmid adressed the media today regarding the Chad Marshall neck sprain suffered Wednesday in training.
“It’s a neck injury, so obviously there are precautions that we need to take,” he said. “Our expectation is that he shouldn’t miss more than this game here coming up. He’s been released, he’s feeling much better. It’s just a matter now of with certain injuries like that you’ve got to go through a protocol, you’ve got to follow that protocol a little bit. We always err on the side of caution. But fully expect to see Chad around next week.”
The Sounders play Los Angeles on Sunday at CenturyLink Field. Next week is a bye-week. They return to action Oct. 18 at Houston.
Schmid also had this health update on left back Oniel Fisher: “Oniel has got a little bit of a hamstring injury, so it’s basically going to be a day to day, week to week kind of thing.”
