The Sounders play their second friendly of this preseason trip to the desert, facing the Portland Timbers at 6 p.,m. (PT). The game will be streamed at SoundersFC.com.

Coach Sigi Schmid is going with with a starting lineup with a few changes from their preseason opener Wednesday. In the first unit against the Timbers were goalkeeper Stefan Frei; defenders Oniel Fisher, Damion Lowe, Chad Marshall and Dylan Remick; midfielders Cristian Roldan, Erik Friberg and Nathan Sturgis; and forwards Obafemi Martins, Nelson Valdez and Aaron Kovar.

In the second half, the plan is to go with goalkeeper Tyler Miller; defenders Tyrone Mears, Roberto Chen, Zach Scott and Joevin Jones; midfielders Osvaldo Alonso, Zach Mathers and Andreas Ivanschitz; and forwards Myron Samuel, Victor Mansaray and Darwin Jones.

I’ll tweet updates @donruiztnt as the game goes along.
