The Sounders fell to 0-3 in desert friendlies, falling to Celaya FC of the Mexican second division, 2-1.

Nelson Valdez got the Seattle goal. Jordan Morris played the second half.

We’ll have more game coverage online soon.

But here is more on Morris:

Coach SIGI SCHID

On Morris’ 45 minutes: He felt he could go, and so we wanted to bring him on and play. He’s new to our team. He’s never played for our team before, and really hasn’t trained with our team yet, so it’s asking a lot from him. Also today we had Dempsey, we didn’t have Dempsey in the last game. That cohesion in the offensive third still isn’t there because the parts are changing all the time.

JORDAN MORRIS

On playing with Sounders: It was good. It was a good opponent, and we’re getting ready to play Club America, so it was a good team to play against.

On if he knew Schmid would send in him for the start of second half: He was still debating it throughout the game and then they told me at halftime.

On playing middle and wide: I like playing in the middle more, but obviously whatever gets you on the field. I’m happy to do whatever helps the team.
