The Sounders spent a little extra time watching film of their 3-1 loss at Colorado this morning before returning to training at Starfire.

"We just talked as a team," coach Sigi Schmid said. "We know we can play better than we played."

Schmid was asked if he had any reassessment of the game, after calling out his team’s performance and leadership immediately after the match.

"t’s never as bad as you think once you watch it on video tape," he said, "It’s never as good as you think once you watch it on video tape. Obviously the team felt they could have gotten more out of the game, and we felt they could have gotten more out of the game."

" … The important this for us is not to panic at this stage," he said. "We’ve gotten seven points in our last four games. And if we can continue to get seven points from every four games here on out, we’ll be in the playoffs. We’ve got two games at home, and at the end of this homestand we want to have 13 points.

Schmid also gave these health updates:

Forwards Clint Dempsey and Nelson Valdez, who didn’t travel to Colorado, worked today. Schmid didn’t fully commit to their return Saturday vs. Columbus, but that had been the club’s expectation over the weekend.

Also no prognosis on F/M Andreas Ivanschitz, who suffered a thigh strain at Colorado.

Central defender Roman Torres "is coming along" but once again, no date – or even month – of return. "He’s feeling good. He’s doing more and more all the time."

The Sounders will be off Tuesday and then return to training Wednesday.
