A 24-year-old Chehalis man who was killed when he drove off the road near Bucoda Tuesday night was texting while driving, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The man was identified as Daniel M. Aker.

About 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aker was northbound in his 1992 Honda Civic on state Route 507 near Bucoda. It was there that he crossed into the southbound lane, drove off the road and crashed into a tree on the driver’s side.
