A 19-year-old bicyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a collision on state Route 507, the Washington State Patrol said.

The collision occurred around 2 p.m.

A man driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup was traveling south on Route 507 when he left his lane for an unknown reason and collided with the southbound male bicyclist, said State Patrol spokeswoman Shaneka Phillips.

A photo tweeted by the State Patrol showed the bicycle jammed underneath the truck.

The cyclist, who the State Patrol identified as Martin E. Valencia of McKenna, died at the scene.

The uninjured driver, a 56-year-old Graham man, was not impaired, Phillips said.

The driver was cited for negligent driving, driving with a suspended license and having no insurance.

The highway was closed in both directions near Old McKenna Road Southeast while the State Patrol investigated.
