Two dead after homicide-suicide near Lacey, deputies say
A woman and her husband are dead after a domestic violence homicide-suicide Friday night, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a home on Bella Court Southeast near Lacey shortly before 10 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. A 24-year-old man had called to report his parents, both 44, were fighting. Dispatchers could hear yelling in the background and what sounded like gunfire, according to the sheriff’s office.
The caller and his 12-year-old sibling then fled the home.
When deputies arrived at the home they tried to contact those inside using a loudspeaker from outside but there was no response. From outside, deputies saw the woman motionless on the floor near the front door.
They got her outside and saw she had multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to meet medical aid a few blocks away, where she was pronounced dead.
As deputies continued to call to the man, a SWAT team entered the home and found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Thurston County Medical Examiner identified the couple Saturday as David and Christina Belcher. Autopsies are scheduled for Monday.
