Driver faces charges after crash that injures four
A 36-year-old woman faces charges of vehicular assault after a two-vehicle crash near Yelm early Saturday.
The crash occurred at 5:50 a.m. on the 12800 block of Bald Hill Road Southeast. Sgt. Carla Carter of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect driver, who is from the Yelm area, was southbound in a Kia SUV when she crossed the centerline and struck a Kia sedan, driven by another 36-year-old woman from the Yelm area.
The driver of the sedan was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. The suspect driver and two passengers in the sedan, a 26-year-old man and 11-year-old boy, were taken to a local hospital.
Carter said investigators believe the suspect driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
