Brief lockdown lifted at Bordeaux Elementary School in Shelton

A lockdown was lifted after about 17 minutes at Bordeaux Elementary School in Shelton on Thursday morning.

Shelton Police were called to the school at 350 University Street.

“The safety of our students and staff are of the highest priority and the lockdown was put into effect as a precautionary measure at the request of Principal Carey Murray due to situation on school property,” stated a news release from the Shelton School District. “The situation was quickly brought under control and the lockdown was lifted.”

The lockdown was ordered at 11:08 a.m., officials said.

No other details were immediately released.
