Centralia police responded to a pickup vs. house crash Saturday afternoon.

A pickup truck destroyed the front porch of a Centralia home Saturday afternoon when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the porch, according to Centralia police.

The motorist, thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s, suffered a medical emergency prior to crashing into the house, Sgt. Kurt Reichert said. The man was taken to Providence Centralia Hospital, although it wasn’t clear if he was taken to the hospital for injuries related to the crash, or for the pre-existing medical condition, he said.

His male passenger was not injured, Reichert said.

About 1 p.m., the pickup driver was westbound on Main Street when he crashed into the house in the 1100 block of West Main Street. Reichert thought the pickup truck was traveling at 20-25 miles per hour when it hit the residence, destroying the front porch and a corner of the house.

The impact of the crash dislodged the pickup truck’s front axle, he said.

The occupants of the house were not injured, Reichert said.
