Police continue to investigate Friday’s suspected homicide on Olympia’s west side.

Officers responded at about 4:45 p.m. on Friday to a report of gunshots near Cooper Point Road Southwest at the Olympia Auto Mall. They did not immediately find anything suspicious, according to Olympia Police Lt. Sam Costello.

They responded to the area again about 20 minutes later and found an unconscious person with an apparent gunshot wound.

The person died at the scene, Costello said, and the death is being investigated as a homicide. Police said the shooting did not appear to be random.
