Have you seen these people? They may have info about an Olympia homicide.

The Olympia Police Department is asking for information regarding Friday’s fatal shooting in the Percival Creek area.

The victim is a man in his early 40s, and is believed to have been living in a camp near where he died. The man’s family hasn’t been notified of his death, so his name isn’t yet being released.

Detectives have identified three people who may have information about the shooting, said Lt. Sam Costello. They are:

• Desirae D. Ewing, 31. Ewing is describe as having brown hair, blue eyes, standing 5 feet and 10 inches tall, and weighing 120 pounds.
• Derle W. Mickler, 39. Mickler is described as having red hair, hazel eyes, standing 5 feet and 11 inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds.
• David L. Conrad, 31. Conrad is described as having brown hair, blue eyes, standing 6 feet and 1 inch tall, and weighing 200 pounds.

Anyone with information about the shooting, or the whereabouts of the three witnesses is asked to call Detective Jason Winner at 360-239-7942 or Sgt. Jeff Herbig at 360-239-1154.

Officers were dispatched to the Percival Creek area — near the Olympia AutoMall — at 4:45 p.m. on Friday after a 911 caller reported gunshots. They weren’t able to determine the source of the sound, according to the Olympia Police Department.

At 5 p.m., officers went back to the area after a caller reported that a man was found near the creek, and had apparently been shot at least twice. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

Costello said the investigation is taking time because about 50 to 60 people live along the railroad tracks between Capitol Lake and where the man was found. The area is wooded, and the presence of a firearm may have had a quieting effect on those willing to share information.
